Description
This IBM Redbooks residency will fully revise the publication “IBM Fibre Channel Endpoint Security for IBM DS8900F and IBM Z,” updating it to cover IBM z17, DS8A00, and SKLM v5.0.x. Residents will integrate new quantum-safe cryptography standards (FC-SP-3), advanced AI-driven security features (z17), and enhanced compliance frameworks (FIPS 140-3, CNSA 2.0) to align with current enterprise security practices. The residency will develop hands-on configuration, validation, and troubleshooting processes for secure storage networking across IBM Z and DS series systems, with detailed guidance on certificate management, policy enforcement, monitoring, and lifecycle operations. Participants will rework architectures, implementation workflows, and disaster recovery strategies to synchronize with today’s risk landscape and regulatory demands. This revision will empower technical practitioners to deploy resilient, high-performance, and fully compliant endpoint security in hybrid and cloud-integrated environments.
Starts 29 October 2025, ends 31 January 2026, and requires 8 residents
