    Benefits to Resident

The residents will gain in-depth knowledge of the latest levels of the IBM SAN Volume Controller and FlashSystem portfolio, and document performance recommendations and techniques. Residents will have access to architects and developers and gain insight to future product enhancements.

IBM Redbooks want technical practitioners to be recognized for their newly gained knowledge, experience, and accomplishments. Therefore, upon successful delivery of the publication produced by this IBM Redbooks residency, you will become eligible to earn an IBM Redbooks Digital Badge issued through Credly.

    Objectives

    Resident Prerequistes

A basic requirement for all residents is the ability to read and clearly express concepts and procedures in common English.

IMPORTANT: This residency is announced as a remote residency. However, depending on the IBM travel policy at the time of the residency, I might offer the option of an on-site residency. If we do have some people on-site. If we do have some people on-site, it would be optional and only for two weeks with the remaining four weeks conducted remotely. Otherwise, the residency can be conducted remotely for the full six weeks. Your ability or willingless to travel will NOT have any effect on your chances of being selected.

ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE FULL MANAGEMENT APPROVAL AND ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE SCHEDULED START DATE.

This residency will be made up of a team of individuals whose combined product skills and experience will cover the areas listed in the skills requirement section of this announcement. Candidates will be selected so that the combined skills of all the team members will provide the in-depth skills and experience necessary to produce this IBM Redbooks publication. It is not expected that candidates are experts all these products, but at a minimum they should have field experience with SVC/FlashSystem and IBM Storage Virtualize software.

Applicants are STRONGLY encouraged to include any relevant and additional information that applies to this residency in the free-form part of the nomination form as that often means the difference in being considered for selection or not. Although not a necessary prerequisite, preference will be given to candidates with previous Redbooks writing experience or a proven track record of writing external technical articles, papers or books.
